The Luminary Pinot Gris 2014

Reductive notes carry through into the flavours but the ripe pear and honeysuckle flavours push their way to the front. This wine is following a recent trend to bring reductive notes forward in the winemaking by leaving the grapes to soak on skins for a slightly extended period. The soft sulphur notes do blow off in the glass after a few minutes and the reduction adds textural complexity. Not the usual fruity style we have come to expect Pinot Gris to deliver but it is a very drinkable, quality wine.
