No. 1 Family Estate Reserve Marlborough Methode Traditionelle
Bottle 429 of 700
This is an exceptional sparkling wine crafted by Daniel Le Brun, the undoubted master of sparkling wine production in New Zealand. Each year a small amount of this Blanc de Blanc (100% Chardonnay) is set aside for long-term aging on lees (5 1/2 years) and released as a 'Reserve' wine.
The extra age has given the wine time to develop a wonderful richness on the palate with a bright freshness from the beautifully balanced acidity. The lees contact has delivered a lovely toasted brioche character that supports ripe background stone fruit flavours. The persistent mousse carries keenly focused, crisp, tongue-tingling citrus in the very long finish and simply rounds out a delicious taste experience.
Simply an exceptional example of aged Blanc de Blanc and as fine as any Champagne.
