Neudorf Vineyards Twenty Five Rows Chardonnay 2014
This is Neudorf’s nod to Chablis style Chardonnay. The delicate use of oak lets the Chardonnay fruit shine on the palate, it just adds fullness to the texture, while the malolactic fermentation adds softness without compromising the bright lime citrus and stone fruit finish; the winemakers performed the perfect balancing act in crafting this delightful expression of Chardonnay grown on Moutere clay soils..
Winery notes: Made from 100% Mendoza Clone Chardonnay grown on the Rosie's Block in the home vineyard. A ,moderate winter followed by a warm spring and dry summer produced one of the earliest vintages on record. Fruit was harvested under excellent conditions and we see wines with great textural character and poise. The grapes were harvested on the 20th march 2014, 100% whole bunch pressed, fermented with 100% indigenous yeast with a high solid fermentation. Fermented 100% in stainless steel and matured for seven months on full lees and three months in neutral puncheons with minimal battonage. the secondary malolactic fermentation was with 100% indigenous yeast. Bottled 9th March 2015. 94 cases bottled.
