Neudorf Vineyards Nelson Pinot Noir 2001
This wine has held together remarkably well. There's still some juicy acidity in the finish while the flavours are bright. Crisp cranberry-like characters add character to the soft berry fruit and cherry flavours. Lashings of elegant, toasty oak with the sweet liquorice aromas carrying though the flavour profile on the back of silky tannins. Simply delicious.
This wine has been aged in our personal cellar since we bought it in 2003 and was among the early wines sealed with a screwcap closure by Neudorf Vineyards. The wine was made from fruit grown on alluvial flats and clay hills sites in the Nelson region.
