Middle Earth Pinot Gris 2017
Medium to full palate weight, the wine is lively on the tongue without being harsh, nice juicy acidity in the very long finish follows the warm spice and ripe fruit flavours. In Nelson the 2017 vintage was difficult for every winemaker, challenging conditions from mid-harvest resulted in a very average vintage for later-ripening varieties in the region, however new Middle Earth winemaker, Trudy Shield, showed her skill in being able to produce a wine of such quality in trying conditions. The wine won a gold medal at the New Zealand International Wine Show in 2017 and is sure to win more accolades.
