La Crema Monterey Chardonnay 2013
An opulent palate weight with firm butterscotch upfront with ripe yellow peach, pineapple and ripe citrus marmalade characters. Oak spice adds a touch of bitterness in the finish. A long, lingering aftertaste of tropical fruits (pineapple, guava) with ripe acidity that makes the wine juicy and very attractive. If you like big, creamy, fully oaked chardonnays then you will love this.
The La Crema website (www.lacrema.com) tells us “the Sonoma Coast growing region begins at the Mendocino County border, continues along the western coastal edge of Sonoma County through the mouth of the Russian River Valley and extends to the Los Carneros region on the southern Sonoma/Napa border”.
