Hans Herzog Spirit of Marlborough Merlot Cabernet 2004

Decadently rich and luscious black berry fruits balanced with leather and herbal spice characters. The alcohol heat in the finish is balaced rather than dominant and adds to the flavour complexities. Cigar box-like oak characters and firm but refined tannins enhance the overall taste experience. This wine will cellar very well for another ten years or more. A beautiful wine. Hans Herzog Estate vineyards enjoys a micro-climate close to the banks of the Wairau River in Marlborough that allows fuller style rd wine grape varieties to fully ripen without even a hint of greenness even though it is a cool climate wine. This particular wine is 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Franc.
