Esk Valley Hawke’s Bay Winemaker’s Reserve Chardonnay 2013

Wild ferment characters are obvious in the palate too but not as dominant is in the aromas. Typical Hawke’s Bay peach characters with agreeable oak spice and a touch of bitterness in the long, juicy finish. For me the wild ferment characters dominate the wine a little too much so make sure you serve chilled to soften these characters. It will be interesting to try this in another year to see how the wild ferment funky characters develop.
